Our Environment is without a doubt the most important aspect of our lives. We breath the air from the atmosphere, we drink the water from the streams and we eat the food from the fields. Climate change threatens our very existence and the out of touch left wing parties threaten our rural way of life. That is why it is essential that anyone who truly cares about the environment must vote Blue to go Green; Only the Conservative Party will protect mother earth while empowering local communities who know the most about their surroundings.
Investing in infrastructure
For years, long-term energy infrastructure has been neglected. While small-scale renewable installations are excellent, large-scale nuclear installations are both cheaper and more reliable. Our strategy of revitalising this country's nuclear sector, supplementing it with renewables, will massively reduce emissions,and decreasing reliance of the unpredictable global oil prices . That means committing to full funding for the Hinkley Point C, Wylfa Newydd, and Moorside projects to build new plants, and funding renewable energy sources including tidal lagoons, like that of Swansea, giving a big boost to the local economy.
Cycling Cities
We will support transforming London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and Cardiff in to "Cycling Cities", enabling people to take Eco-Friendly modes of transport rather than adding to congestion and air pollution. This will include things like more cycling transport networks, similar to the one in London, as well as introducing more cycling lanes.
Electric Car Charging Lanes
Across major roads in the United Kingdom we would build a lot of electric car charging lanes and run them as trials. In order to tackle climate change policies such as this are essential and the availability of charging ports will increase usage of electric cars.
Shale Gas Extraction
If in government the Conservative Party would legalise Shale Gas extraction however we would make sure there is very careful oversight and would check that Shale Gas is only extracted in areas with low population density so there is little risk to the British people.
Carbon Capture
We as Conservatives also wish to reduce the amount of CO2 already in the atmosphere - so we pledge to build more carbon capture and storage plants to get as much of this pollutant out of the atmosphere as possible.
Tidal Lagoons
We would start the construction of tidal lagoons in suitable locations across the UK, providing more renewable sources of energy.
